Joseph Hawthorne
Founder / CPA
Joe graduated from Baylor University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. He promptly went on to take the CPA exam and became a Certified Public Accountant. After spending a few years at a large Dallas, TX firm, he founded his accounting firm, Joseph Hawthorne CPA, 30 years ago in Forney, Texas. He has been practicing as a Certified Public Accountant for over 35 years. Joe is passionate about helping small businesses and individuals with their taxes and a multitude of other financial services. He is married to Wende Hawthorne and has three grown children.
James Grafton
Accountant
James served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. For the last six months of his active-duty service, he was assigned to a volunteer tax service where he discovered a passion for income tax work and a desire to assist others with their personal finances. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Tax from Southern Methodist University. He now has four years of experience as an accountant and has helped hundreds of clients through a wide variety of financial services. James moved to Forney, TX in 2019 and is married with two children.
Karen Cole
Administrative Assistant
Karen moved to Forney from Florida in 2011. She has a decade of experience as an administrative assistant and office manager. She also dedicated much of her life to her family. Karen has been married for 30 years and has three grown daughters. Additionally, she loves crocheting, Disney World, and spending time with her two miniature schnauzers.
